Freud, Noonmark to Sequel Stallions in NY

Freud's son Giant Ryan is scheduled to run in the Breeders' Cup Sprint.

Becky Thomas and Dennis Narlinger have reopened Sequel Stallions New York near Hudson, N.Y., and will stand Freud  and Noonmark at the nursery. The farm is making plans to stand another stallion.

Freud and Noonmark, who both stood in 2011 at Sequel Stallions at Keane Stud near Amenia, N.Y., formerly stood at Sequel Stallions New York.

Thirteen-year-old Freud, a full brother to prominent sire Giant's Causeway , has sired 28 stakes winners and 26 stakes-placed runners. He currently leads all New York stallions by number of 2011 stakes winners, with eight. Those eight have won 14 stakes this year and include grade I winner Giant Ryan, who is scheduled to contest the Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I). Freud (Storm Cat—Mariah’s Storm, by Rahy) has been New York’s leading sire of stakes winners since 2008.

Eight-year-old Noonmark (Unbridled's Song—In the Storm, by Storm Cat) won the Mr. Prospector Handicap (gr. III) and placed in six stakes, four of which were graded. He earned $354,090. His first foals are weanlings.

The Sequel Stallions New York farm has been the birthplace of eight graded stakes winners including Giant Ryan and additional grade I winners Franny Freud (by Freud), Rightly So, and Fleet Indian.

“We are proud to offer New York breeders this outstanding facility, which already is the home of 18 graded stakes winners/runners,” Becky Thomas said. “Standing Freud and Noonmark, in addition to adding the most exciting stallion prospect to ever come to New York, should certainly prove to breeders that we are committed to their needs.”
