Robert Hammond has been hired as the general manager of John Phillips' Darby Dan Farm and will assume duties immediately at the Lexington farm.
“Robert brings a wealth of experience in many areas of the industry, and we're excited to have him on board at Darby Dan,” Phillips said.
Hammond formerly was the stallion manager and director of bloodstock at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky., where he served for five years. A native of London, England, he moved to the United States in 1997 and has more than 20 years of experience in the Thoroughbred industry. Hammond also has been involved as a trainer, farm owner, consignor, and bloodstock agent on both sides of the pond.
