Rapid Redux in at Mountaineer; Seeks No. 20

The gelding has won 19 races in a row dating back to late 2010.

Robert Cole Jr.’s Rapid Redux, in search of a record 20 wins in a row, has been entered in a Nov. 21 starter allowance event at one mile at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in West Virginia.

Rapid Redux, in his last start at Laurel Park in Maryland, tied the modern North American record of 19 consecutive victories held by Peppers Pride and Zenyatta.

Rapid Redux, a 5-year-old Pleasantly Perfect gelding, drew post nine in a 10-horse field in the event for 3-year-olds and up that have started for a claiming price of $5,000 or less in 2010-11. The purse is $14,900.

Cole and trainer David Wells also entered Zio Tony, the lone horse on the also-eligible list. Deshawn Parker, leading rider at Mountaineer, is named on the Cole entry.

The race has a probable post time of 9:55 p.m. EST as the eighth on a nine-race program that begins at 7 p.m.
