Here Comes Ben, Justenuffhumor to McMahon

Two new stallions for McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds.

Grade I winner Here Comes Ben will enter stud in 2012 at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., which will also be the new home of Justenuffhumor.

Here Comes Ben will stand for $7,500 live foal and Justenuffhumor, who previously stood at Vinery New York, will have a live foal fee of $5,000.

A homebred for Brandon and Marianne Chase, Here Comes Ben was trained by Charles Lopresti, winning seven of 17 starts and earning $410,764. The 5-year-old son of Street Cry-Chasetheragingwind, by Dayjur, won the 2010 Forego Stakes (gr. I) and consecutive runnings of the Kelly’s Landing Stakes at Churchill Downs in 2010-11.

A $550,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase by John Ferguson on behalf of Darley Stable, Justenuffhumor won the Fourstardave and Bernard Baruch handicaps, both grade II turf stakes, in 2009 while trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, and finished third in that year’s TVG Breeders‘ Cup Mile (gr. I). He is a 5-year-old son of Distorted Humor -Justenuffheart, by Broad Brush. He was bred in Kentucky by Mt. Brilliant Farm.

“Both horses are from active racing families with proven sires within the first three dams. I believe breeders can succeed with these horses on the track or in the sales ring,“ said Joe McMahon. "New York is poised to become a leading state in breeding and racing and McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds is committed to the future of our industry here.“
