Sovereign Award Finalist Embur's Song Retired

Daughter of Unbridled's Song is a Sovereign Award finalist.

Embur's Song, a finalist for 2011 Canadian champion older female and a graded stakes winner at Keeneland, has been retired from racing to become a broodmare for owner Issam Fares at his Fares Farm near Lexington. Five-year-old Embur’s Song, by Unbridled's Song, is booked to Giant’s Causeway.

Embur’s Song won four stakes in 2011. At Woodbine, she captured the Ontario Matron Stakes (Can-III) and the Hendrie Stakes (Can-III). In the United States, she won the Hilliard Lyons Doubledogdare Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland in track-record time and the Windward Stakes.

Embur’s Song, who began her career at Keeneland with a 13 1/4-length triumph, placed in four stakes during her career including the 2010 Woodbine Oaks Presented by Budweiser. She was retired with a record of 6-2-2 from 13 starts and earnings of $616,926 while trained by Todd Pletcher.

Bred in Ontario by Josham Farms Limited, Embur’s Song was bought by Fares Farm for $170,000 at the 2008 Keeneland September yearling sale from Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency, agent. Embur's Song is out of the stakes-placed Bold Ruckus mare Embur Sunshine and is a half sister to stakes winner Ten Flat and two stakes-placed runners.
