E Z's Gentleman, a leading sprinter of 2010, will enter stud in 2012 at Don and Dana Myers’ Swifty Farms near Seymour, Ind. Owned by John O’Meara’s Milestone Farm, the 7-year-old son of Yankee Gentleman will stand for $2,500 stands and nurses.
E Z’s Gentleman, who broke his maiden at Del Mar at 2, won or placed in five graded stakes at 5 in 2010. He recorded a 109 Beyer speed figure in winning the Triple Bend Handicap (gr. I) and placed in the Ancient Title Stakes (gr. I) and the Bing Crosby Stakes (gr. I), plus the Potrero Grande Handicap (gr. II) and the Los Angeles Handicap (gr. III). He was retired with a record of 4-1-4 from 18 starts and earnings of $359,711.
Out of the Distinctive Pro mare Tensie's Pro, a stakes winner at Saratoga, E Z’s Gentleman is a half brother to stakes winner Aqui Estoy.
“He broke his maiden at Del Mar in his second start and was a grade I winner running against the best company around,” O’Meara said. “He’s a son of the stakes-winning Storm Cat horse Yankee Gentleman and his dam, Tensie’s Pro, won a stakes at Saratoga, herself a granddaughter of Mr. Prospector.”
