TVG, Prairie Meadows, Horsemen in ADW Deal

TVG and the Iowa racetrack will market each other's services and products.

Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino and the Iowa Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association have selected TVG as the provider for an advance deposit wagering system.

The ADW partnership between the horsemen and the racetrack was announced last year, but a service provider wasn't announced at the time.

As part of the agreement, TVG and Prairie Meadows will extensively market each other’s products and services, including ADW and live racing conducted by Prairie Meadows, according to a release. The ADW system will use TVG’s “state-of-the-art TVG 3.0 technology” launched nationally in January 2012, officials said.

“We are very excited about this new venture,” Gary Palmer, Prairie Meadows president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We look forward to this opportunity to partner with the Iowa HBPA and TVG in helping us to promote our live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse products through advance deposit wagering.”

“I look forward to the launch of the new site, as many horsemen and fans have expressed to me as well,” said Leroy Gessmann, president of the Iowa HBPA.

“It is a fine example of a racetrack, a horsemen’s group, and an ADW provider working cooperatively together from the outset to maximize the business – a forward-thinking approach that we hope to see replicated in other jurisdictions,” CEO Stephen Burn of TVG said.

The Thoroughbred meet at Prairie Meadows runs from April 20-Aug. 11, and the track will hold Quarter Horse racing from Aug. 17-Oct. 27.
