'Vanning Incentive Program' at Vinery NY

Breeders given deduction on some costs for mares bred on live foals seasons.

Vinery New York at Sugar Maple Farm near Poughquag, N.Y., has announced its “Vanning Incentive Program” for the 2012 breeding season.

According to the farm, purchasers of live foal, payable stands and nurses stallion service agreements may deduct their shipping costs (breeding shed trips and/or vanning to New York), up to 50% of the stud fee due (maximum $500 deduction on Posse contracts), from their stud fee payment. The deduction can be taken at the early payment date of Nov. 1, 2012, or at the time of foaling in 2013.

A copy of the shipping invoice(s) must be included with stud fee payment. Stud fees more than 30 days past due are not eligible for the discount.
