Now I Know Doing Well Following Surgery

Graded stakes winner won six of seven races before being injured and retired.

Graded stakes winner Now I Know, who was retired after she came out of the Martha Washington Stakes at Oaklawn Park Feb. 14 with a fracture in her left front knee, is doing well following surgery at Oakridge Equine Hospital near Edmond, Okla.

“She came through the surgery in excellent fashion,” said trainer Don Von Hemel, who raced the homebred Pure Prize filly with Wayne O. Stockseth. “She is with Dr. (Mike) Major at Oakridge and will be coming home in a few days. We’ll decide whether to bred her or sell her.”

Now I Know, who finished second in the Martha Washington, retired with six wins and a runner-up effort from seven starts and earnings of $461,721. She won the 2011 Delta Downs Princess Stakes (gr. III) and the Oklahoma Classics Lassie Stakes. She captured the Dixie Belle Stakes in January in her other start this year.

Bred in Oklahoma, Now I Know is the first foal out of the Maria's Mon mare Now U Know.
