Two-time defending North American Eclipse champion Ramon Dominguez is expected to resume riding April 6 at Aqueduct Racetrack, less than three weeks after suffering a separated collarbone during a race.

“I’m feeling pretty good and am hoping to ride a few horses on Friday,” said Dominguez, who indicated that he is seeing his doctor on April 2 for clearance. “It’s only been two weeks and I can feel big progress from one day to the next.”

Dominguez is expected to ride Alpha   in the $1 million Resorts World Casino New York City Wood Memorial (gr. I) at Aqueduct April 7.

A Venezuelan native, Dominguez is also the regular rider for champions Hansen and Havre de Grace. He originally injured his collarbone in a spill at Aqueduct March 18.

Dominguez, 35, has dominated the NYRA circuit as the leading jockey each of the past three years, racking up 16 individual meet titles at Aqueduct, Belmont Park, and Saratoga.
