Zanjero Sires First Winner

Multiple grade II winner Zanjero sires first winner.

Zanjero, a two-time grade II winner, sired his first winner when his son Zambito scored May 18 at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in his initial start.

Zambito ran the 4 ½ furlongs in :54.25 to win the maiden special weight race by 3 ¼ lengths as a homebred for Shelly Radosevich and Jake Radosevich, who trains the colt.

An Ohio-bred, Zambito is out of the winning Sir Cat mare Big Ma Moo and is a half brother to stakes-placed Mamooguska.

Zanjero (Cherokee Run--Checkered Flag, by A.P. Indy) won the Indiana Derby (gr. II), the Kentucky Cup Classic Stakes (gr. II), and two other stakes on his way to earning a career total $1,620,786. Zanjero stands for $7,500 at Ro Parra’s Millennium Farms near Lexington.
