Symposium Adds 'Simulcast Marketplace'

The objective is to provide a place for organizations to meet and make deals.

A simulcast marketplace has been added to this year’s Global Symposium on Racing & Gaming in Tucson, Ariz.

The symposium, held by the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program, will be held Dec. 3-6 at the Westin La Paloma Resort.

Symposium officials said the Global Simulcast Marketplace will allow representatives of organizations to meet, buy, and sell their racing products.

“One of the goals of the symposium has always been to facilitate industry interaction,” RTPI director Doug Reed said. “The marketplace concept was created after a number of international attendees indicated that it is difficult to identify and connect with the appropriate people to acquire our product.

“They are eager to explore all the possibilities associated with North American racing.”

The groups confirmed for the symposium are Australian Racing, Churchill Downs Inc., GBI Racing, Keeneland, Latin American Racing Channel, Lone Star Park, Monarch Content Management, New York Racing Association, New Zealand Racing Board, Phumelela, Premier Turf Club, Racing and Gaming Services,, Remington Park Racing & Casino, Tabcorp, and Woodbine Entertainment Group.
