BC Winner Raven's Pass Sires First Winner

Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass sires first winner.

Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Raven's Pass sired his first winner when his 2-year-old daughter Lovely Pass won at Lingfield in England May 26 first time out. Lovely Pass captured the six-furlong race by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:11.40 for the Maktoum family’s Godolphin.

Bred in Ireland by Stowell Park Stud, Lovely Pass is the third winner from three starters from English champion Macadamia (by Classic Cliche).

Raven’s Pass (Elusive QualityAscutney, by Lord At War) defeated Henrythenavigator and Tiago in the 2008 Classic in track record time of 1:59.27 for 1 1/4 miles at Santa Anita while winning for Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley and the sheikh’s wife, H.R.H Princess Haya of Jordan. In England that year, Raven’s Pass was a champion and group I winner.

Raven’s Pass stands at Sheikh Mohammed’s Kildangan Stud in Co. Kildare, Ireland. His fee is 22,500 euros.
