First winner by Saratoga grade I winner Majestic Warrior scores at Calder

Grade I winner Majestic Warrior came through with his first winner when his daughter Weekend Warrior scored at Calder Casino & Race Course June 24 (VIDEO). Weekend Warrior captured the 5 1/2-furlong race by three-quarters of a length in 1:07.29 for owner/trainer Jose Pinchin after placing in her two earlier races.

Bred in Kentucky by Sun Valley Farm and Thumrong Wattanapisit, Weekend Warrior is out of the Cat Thief mare Chic Thief and is a half sister to four winners, including Puerto Rican group I stakes-placed Dark and Chic. Chic Thief is a half sister to graded winner Radical Riley. Weekend Warrior was purchased for $15,500 at the 2011 Keeneland September yearling sale.

Majestic Warrior (A.P. IndyDream Supreme, by Seeking the Gold) won the 2007 Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga. He stands for $10,000 at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky.
