E-Verify on Agenda for Racing Symposium

Town hall meeting part of University of Arizona's annual racing and gaming symposium.

The federal government’s E-Verify program will be the subject of a “town hall” meeting in conjunction with the University of Arizona’s “Global Symposium on Racing and Gaming.” The annual symposium is scheduled for Dec. 3-6 this year.

Representatives from the Outreach and Verification Division of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services will make a 10- to 20-minute presentation on the E-Verify program, which will be followed by a discussion regarding the best way to implement and use the program at racetracks, according to a symposium release.

“The town hall should be of particular interest to state horsemen’s association leadership and staff to determine ways to help their membership access and use E-Verify, as well as developing best practices to ensure compliance,” the release stated.

The release said the immigration representatives are also interested in hearing about concerns and issues regarding access to E-Verify.
