A Distorted Humor   colt from the family of champion Banshee Breeze commanded a price of $500,000 to lead the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling sale in the early stages Aug. 6.

Consigned as Hip No. 5 by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, and the third horse to go through the ring, he was bought by John Ferguson, bloodstock agent for Sheikh Mohammed.

Bred in Kentucky by Kenny Troutt's WinStar Farm, the chestnut colt is the second foal out of the winning A.P. Indy mare Indy's Windy.

His second dam, the Known Fact mare Banshee Winds, produced Banshee Breeze (by Unbridled), who won the 1998 Coaching Club American Oaks, Alabama Stakes, and Three Chimneys Spinster Stakes (all gr. I) en route to being named that year's champion 3-year-old filly. She won two other grade I events as a 4-year-old. Banshee Winds is additionally the dam of stakes winner Unbridled Wind, a full sister to Banshee Breeze.

Other prominent family members include grade/group I winners All At Sea, Mutual Trust, Last Quick, Hilda's Passion, Twice Over, and Passage of Time.
