Dams of I'll Have Another, 'Bode' in F-T Sale

They will be consigned to the November select mixed auction by Brookdale Farm.

The dams of two of this year's Triple Crown stars, I'll Have Another  and Bodemeister , will be offered at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November select mixed sale. Brookdale Farm, the sales arm of the Seitz family's Brookdale Farm, will consign both mares to the auction, which is scheduled for Nov. 5 in Lexington.

Arch's Gal Edith, whose I'll Have Another captured the Kentucky Derby Presented By Yum! Brands (gr. I) and Preakness (gr. I), is in foal to Gio Ponti . Untouched Talent, whose grade I winner Bodemeister finished second in the Derby and Preakness, is in foal to Unbridled's Song.

"I'll Have Another's dam is owned by Harvey Clarke and resides at Brookdale," Joe Seitz said. "I'll Have Another was foaled and raised through most of his yearling year here. Bodemeister's dam is owned by Audley Farm in Virginia and resides here seasonally.

"They are both long-term clients and valued friends," he added, "and we are honored they have entrusted us with these two wonderful, young mares. The timing is perfect. They are both in foal to very exciting stallions, and we are looking forward to a big night for both mares on November 5."

Arch's Gal Edith is a 10-year-old winning daughter of Arch and the Pleasant Tap mare Force Five Gal. I'll Have Another is her third foal. A son of Flower Alley, he earned $2,693,600 while winning five of his seven career races. In addition to his two classic victories, he captured the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) and Robert B. Lewis Stakes (gr. II) this year. He also finished second in the 2011 Best Pal Stakes (gr. II).

Untouched Talent is an 8-year-old daughter of Storm Cat and the A.P. Indy mare Parade Queen. She won the Sorrento Stakes (gr. III) and the Juan Gonzalez Memorial Stakes in 2006.

Bodemeister is Untouched Talent's second foal. In addition to his classic effort, he won the Arkansas Derby (gr. I) and finished second in the San Felipe Stakes (gr. II) this year. An earner of $1,304,800, he captured two of his six career races and finished second four times.

I'll Have Another, who was injured prior to a scheduled start in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I), will enter stud next year at Big Red Farm in Japan. Bodemeister, whose retirement was announced Aug. 21 after the diagnosis of a shoulder injury, will enter stud in 2013 at Kenny Troutt's WinStar Farm in Kentucky.
