K C's Songofprayer Tops Louisiana Sale

The yearling Songandaprayer filly brings $85,000 Sept. 25.

K C's Songofprayer topped the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana's yearling auction, bringing $85,000 Sept. 25. The sale was held at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, La.

Brittlyn Stables purchased K C's Songofprayer from Pelican State Thoroughbreds, agent. The bay Songandaprayer filly is a full sister to Country Diva, who won the the West Virginia Secretary of State Stakes and two other added-money events in 2007. The sale topper also is a half sister to Bon Caddo (by Bon Point), who captured the 2011 Virginia Gold Cup Timber Stakes and two other added-money events.

K C's Songofprayer is out of the unraced Tactical Advantage mare Tactical Info, who is a half sister to stakes winners Concorde's Info (by Concorde Bound), and Infomint (by Key to the Mint). Infomint triumphed in the 1996 Dearly Precious Stakes at Aqueduct. Sugarland Thoroughbreds bred the yearling in Louisiana.

The results for the auction included a gross of $1,078,300 for the 110 horses that were sold. The average price was $9,803 and the median price was $4,500. The buy-back rate was 25.7%.
