Woodbine Jockey Matt Moore Out for Season

Rider has surgery for injured shoulder after being injured in Sept. 22 spill.

Jockey Matt Moore, injured in a spill Sept. 22, has undergone successful shoulder surgery and will be out for the remainder of the Woodbine campaign.

Moore, who was ejected from his mount in the 10th race, will begin rehabilitation as soon as he is able to, and set his sights on the 2013 season.

"The surgery went extremely well," said his agent, Eric Ross. "Although Matt is disappointed he won't be able to ride anymore this year, he will work hard over the winter months and be ready for the upcoming season. He would also like to extend his gratitude to everyone for their support and concern."

Moore won 12 times from 215 starts during the Woodbine meet, with 22 seconds and 15 thirds. His mounts totaled $537,355.
