Lentenor, Barbaro's Full Brother, Retired

Roy and Gretchen Jackson's homebred stakes winner retired due to a tendon injury.

Lentenor , a 5-year-old full brother to 2006 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Barbaro, has been retired from racing because of a tendon injury. Stallion plans are under consideration with Headley Bell of Nicoma Bloodstock.

Campaigned as a homebred by Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Lael Stables, Lentenor (DynaformerLa Ville Rouge, by Carson City) broke his maiden at Gulfstream Park in his third start and finished fourth in the 2010 Florida Derby (gr. I) in his first start on dirt.

Lentenor, trained by Michael Matz at age 3 and Leigh Delacour the last two seasons, set a course record at Tampa Bay Downs in December 2011. This year, he won the Kitten's Joy Stakes on turf at Colonial Downs and finished fourth in the Cliff Hanger Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Monmouth Park.

Lentenor was retired with a record of 4-3-3 from 17 starts and earnings of $184,406.
