The 23rd annual Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) Stallion Season Auction will be held Jan. 3 through Jan. 5. The three-day fundraiser consists of a two-day telephone auction and culminates with a live select stallion season auction at the Keeneland Entertainment Center in Lexington.
“Planning is well under way for our annual Stallion Season Auction,” said Erin Crady, executive director of TCA. “We are currently accepting season donations, sponsorships, and program advertisers. The auction is our largest annual fundraiser and is vital to TCA as it enables us to grant funds to Thoroughbred-related non-profit organizations across the nation.”
The majority of TCA’s seasons will be offered during the two-day telephone auction. Telephone bids will be accepted January 3-4 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (EST). Interested bidders may register for a bidder number by visiting the TCA website.
Approximately 25-30 seasons will be sold in the live select stallion season on Jan. 5. Bidders or their authorized agents may bid on the select seasons by attending the live auction in-person, or they may bid on the select seasons during the telephone phase with the highest bidders earning the right to bid by phone during the live auction. In addition to the seasons, the live auction will feature non-season lots such as a Triple Crown package and a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A silent auction will also be offered.
TCA Stallion Season Auction sponsors include Adena Springs Farm, Rosenberg Thoroughbred Consulting, PBI Bank, Candyland Farm, Provations Group, Fasig-Tipton, L.V. Harkness & Company, and Blood-Horse Publications.

TCA was formed in 1990 to raise and distribute funds for charities in the Thoroughbred industry which provide a better life for Thoroughbreds both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue, and research and by helping the people who work with them. TCA is the charitable arm of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA).
