Grade III Winner Rodman Dead at 7

Rodman died in his first season at stud at Cloverleaf Farms.

New stallion Rodman died earlier this year when he foundered after suffering a severe foot infection during his first season at Cloverleaf II in Reddick, Fla.

Cloverleaf general manager Matt Lyons said the grade III winner was able to cover several mares in his only season at stud.

A 7-year-old son of Malibu Moon  bred in Kentucky by David E. Hager II out of the Affirmed mare Crystal Gem, Rodman won the 2009 Queens County Handicap (gr. III) at Aqueduct Racetrack while racing for Barry Schwartz and trainer Mike Hushion. His career ended with $416,152 in purse earnings and a 6-4-1 record from 18 starts.
