Executiveprivilege to Run in Starlet Dec. 8

Bob Baffert-trained filly works handy half-mile at Santa Anita in :48 flat Dec. 2.

Executiveprivilege, beaten favorite for the Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) one month ago, runs next in the $500,000 Starlet Stakes (gr. I) Dec. 8, according to the racing office at Betfair Hollywood Park.

The two-time grade I winner is one of seven under consideration for the 1 1/16-mile Cushion Track event for 2-year-old fillies. Trained by Bob Baffert, Executiveprivilege was defeated by one length by Beholder when second in the Juvenile Fillies Nov. 2 at Santa Anita Park, her first lost in six races.

Executiveprivilege worked a half-mile at Santa Anita Dec. 2 handily in :48 flat, seventh best of 17 at the distance on the morning.

Mike Smith replaces Rafael Bejarano, who had ridden the First Samurai  filly in each of her previous starts. The Hall of Fame jockey rode Game On Dude to victory for Baffert in the Native Diver Stakes (gr. III) Dec. 1 at Hollywood.

Owned by Karl Watson, Mike Pegram, and Paul Weitman, Executiveprivilege has earned $900,000 in her brief career.

Adding intrigue to the Starlet is Blonde Fog, also conditioned by Baffert for Dr. Mark Dedomenico and Pegram. The daughter of Divine Park made quite an impression in her debut Oct. 28 at Santa Anita, winning by more than 12 lengths against maiden special weights at the Starlet distance. She also worked Dec. 2, covering a half-mile in :48 3/5 handily at Santa Anita.

Other likely entrants are Midnight Ballet (trained by Tom Proctor), who captured the Sharp Cat Stakes Nov. 11 in her Cushion Track debut; Renee's Titan (Doug O’Neill), second to Midnight Ballet in the same race, and Scarlet Strike (Jerry Hollendorfer), second to Executiveprivilege in Santa Anita's Chandalier Stakes (gr. I), formerly the Oak Leaf.

Possibles are Pure Fun (Ken McPeek) and Secret Motive (Julio Canani), both of whom would have to be supplemented. Late nominations are accepted until entries are taken Dec. 5.
