Bernstein Mare in Fastest OBS Work

Five-year-old stakes-winning mare zips four furlongs in :45 1/5.

Bingo, a 5-year-old stakes-winning mare by Bernstein, worked a half-mile in :45 1/5 to post the fastest work at the distance at the Jan. 14 Under Tack Show for the Horses of Racing Age section of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. 2013 winter mixed sale.

The Jan. 15-16 sale in Ocala, Fla., begins at 10:30 a.m. (EST) daily.

A dark bay or brown mare consigned as Hip No, 234 by Moonshadow Farm, Bingo is a half sister to stakes winner Beau Brass. The Ontario-bred mare, winner of the Ontario Damsel Stakes, has earned $208,874 to date.

Casual Trick, a stakes-placed 4-year-old son of Bernardini  worked a half mile in :45 3/5. The bay ridgling consigned by Scanlon Training Center as Hip No. 186 was produced from Vodafone Epsom Oaks (Eng-I) winner winner Casual Look, by Red Ransom. The Kentucky-bred has won three of 11 starts, with earnings of $160,296, and finished second in the 2012 Gulfstream Park Derby.

Hip No. 188, At Large, a colt by Orientate consigned by Thoroughbred Friends & Associates, zipped the day's fastest three-eighths of a mile, stopping the timer in :32 4/5. The unraced dark bay or brown 3-year-old colt is out of Catch Me Deputy, by Silver Deputy, and his second dam is grade I winner Family Enterprize.

Two horses worked three eighths in :33 2/5. Hip No. 296, Nicks World, is a 3-year-old colt by Exchange Rate consigned by Craig L. Wheeler. The unraced gray or roan colt is out of Sarah's World, by Holy Bull, and is a half brother to Canadian grade II winner Higher World.

Hip No. 299, consigned by Hoppel's Horse & Cattle Co., is an unraced 3-year-old bay gelding by Rockport Harbor out of Sea Way Lady, by Sea Wall, a half sister to stakes winners Everything and Exciting Flash.
