Calibrachoa, Redding Colliery to Red River

The multiple graded stakes winners will stand in Louisiana for $2,000 live foal.

Multiple graded stakes winners Calibrachoa and Redding Colliery have been purchased by Jay and Terry Adcock's Red River Farms and will stand near Coushatta, La., in 2013.

Both will stand for $2,000 live foal and will be syndicated. This is their first season at stud.

Calibrachoa, a 6-year-old son of Southern Image out of the grade II stakes-placed Montbrook mare Fort Lauderdale, won $666,040 in 20 starts with a 10-3-4 record. He won or placed in nine stakes in New York for Repole Stable and trainer Todd Pletcher, with multiple graded victories including consecutive editions of the Toboggan Stakes (gr. III) and Tom Fool Handicap (gr. III) in 2011 and 2012, as well as the 2011 Bold Ruler Handicap (gr. III) at Aqueduct Racetrack. He recorded a 111 Beyer speed figure in the Tom Fool and a 107 in the Toboggan.
In 2011 Calibrachoa finished third in the Cigar Mile (gr. I) behind To Honor and Serve and Hymn Book. He was third in the 2011 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (gr. I) behind Sean Avery and Trappe Shot , and was third in that year's edition of the True North Handicap (gr. II) behind Trappe Shot and This Ones for Phil. He was bred in Kentucky by Nelson Bunker Hunt.
Redding Colliery, a 7-year-old son of Mineshaft  out of the Zilzal mare Joop, earned $776,885 in 22 starts with a 7-3-3 record for Mrs. Fitriani Hay. He began his career at Ascot and was third in the Gulf News U.A.E. Two Thousand Guineas (UAE-III) in Dubai before coming to the U.S. in 2009 for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. He won the 2010 Lone Star Park Handicap (gr. III) and Hawthorne Gold Cup (gr. II), and took the Evening Attire Stakes in 2012.
Redding Colliery was placed second in the 2010 Clark Handicap (gr. I), was second in the Philip H. Iselin Stakes (gr. III), and finished third in the Charles Town Classic that year. He was bred in Kentucky by Gainesway Thoroughbreds and 707 Stables.
The retired runners join a stallion roster that includes Private Vow, Salute The Sarge, Forefathers, Alyzig, Gold Tribute, Honest Man, Interactif, Pulling Punches, and Tiz The One.
