WinStar Awards Stallion Seasons to Breeders

New stallion facility opening featured 15 drawings for farm's "Breed to Win" program.

Nearly 200 breeders, owners, and WinStar Stablemates members gathered Feb. 9 at the unveiling of the new state-of-the-art WinStar stallion facility located off Paynes Mill Road and Pisgah Pike near Versailles, Ky.

The event showcased 22 WinStar stallions in their new residence, and featured 15 drawings for WinStar's "Breed to Win" incentive program for breeders.

"With four WinStar stallions finishing in the Top 15 on the 2012 general sires' list and nine exciting additions to the WinStar stallion roster, we wanted to show appreciation to our growing family of breeders who have played such a huge role in WinStar's continual success," said Elliott Walden, WinStar's President and CEO, in a release. "The Breed to Win program was our way of saying 'thank you' to breeders for continuing a relationship with WinStar Farm."

"Breed To Win" rewarded those breeders with a contract to a WinStar stallion standing for $20,000 or less by entering them into a drawing for an additional complimentary 2013 season to that stallion. Breeders who had a signed contract by noon Feb. 8 were eligible and included in the drawings.
