ABRV Tour to Begin at Festival in Texas

Beginning in Austin, it will also visit Triple Crown cities in the spring.

The America's Best Racing tour will begin the week of March 11 at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, according to The Jockey Club.

The tour, known as the ABRV because it employs a large bus carrying six brand ambassadors, will also make stops in Miami, Lexington, Louisville, Baltimore, and New York in conjunction with the Triple Crown and related prep season. Later in the year it visits Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; Chicago; Oceanport, N.J.; San Diego; and Los Angeles for the Breeders' Cup World Championships.

The South by South Festival is a "showcase for original music, independent films, and emerging technologies," The Jockey Club said. It usually attracts about 20,000 people during its 10-day run.

ABRV ambassadors are Jose Contreras, John Cox, Mary Frances Dale, Victoria Garafalo, Hallie Hardy, and Chip McGaughey. They are recent college graduates who have been recruited to travel around the country to promote interest in the lifestyle and competition of Thoroughbred racing's premier events.
