Animal Kingdom Draws Post 12 in World Cup

2011 Derby winner outside Royal Delta who leaves post 8; Dullahan gets post 3.

Team Valor International's Animal Kingdom , winner of the 2011 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), drew post 12 of 13 when the field was drawn March 27 for the $10 million Dubai World Cup sponsored by Emirates (UAE-I) to be run March 30 at Meydan.

Animal Kingdom, trained by Graham Motion, Besilu Stables' champion Royal Delta from the barn of Hall of Fame horseman Bill Mott, and Donegal Racing's grade I winner Dullahan are the American interests in a 13-horse lineup for the 1 1/4-mile World Cup. Royal Delta—bidding to become the first filly to win the race—leaves from post 8. Dullahan, trained by Dale Romans, goes from post 3.

The early favorite is Hunter's Light, who drew post 4.
Also entered were African Story, Capponi, Kassiano, Meandre, Monterosso, Planteur, Red Cadeux, Side Glance, and Treasure Beach.
