Frankel to Cover Southern Hemisphere Mares

Stud fee for 10-time group I winner will be $166,200.

Freshman stallion Frankel will be available to cover a limited book of mares to Southern Hemisphere time, Juddmonte Farms announced March 27.

"We are very pleased with the start Frankel has made at stud. And with the great interest being shown from within the Southern Hemisphere this decision is a natural progression," said Juddmonte general manager Philip Mitchell. "However it is our full intention to limit the number of mares to be covered, which can only be of benefit to those breeders who wish to support the horse."

Breeders are asked to submit their proposed mares for consideration by the end of May. The fee to breed to the undefeated, 10-time group I winner will be $166,200 payable at 45 days gestation. Juddmonte will make available a maximum amount of $15,100 toward the owner's travel, boarding, and ancillary costs.
