'Derby Preview' to Benefit Backside Learning

Silent and live auctions will benefit Backside Learning Center at Churchill Downs.

"The Derby Preview," a dinner and auction that traditionally kicks off Kentucky Derby week, is scheduled for April 29 at the Crowne Plaza Louisville.

The event, previously held at John E's Restaurant, includes interviews with jockeys, trainers, and owners of horses likely to run in the May 4 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I). The doors open at 5 p.m. (EDT) with drinks, followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The interviews with Derby connections will be aired live from 7-9 p.m. on radio station ESPN 680.

The silent and live auctions, which include riding gear and apparel from several Derby and Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) horses and items from other businesses, will benefit the Backside Learning Center at Churchill Downs.
