Hay Jude Delivers Paddy O'Prado Colt

The dam of multiple grade I winner Little Mike will be bred back to Distorted Humor.

Hay Jude, the Florida Broodmare of the Year for 2012 and dam of Florida champion Little Mike, gave birth April 12 to a colt by Paddy O'Prado.

The 18-year-old daughter of Wavering MonarchDouble Norm, by Relaunch, is the only broodmare owned by Carlo and Priscilla Vaccarezza, who also bred and race multiple grade I winner Little Mike.

According to Carlo Vaccarezza, Hay Jude will be bred back to Distorted Humor . The mare is boarded at trainer Dale Romans' farm in Kentucky.

Hay Jude has produced two stakes winners out of six foals of racing age. Her first stakes winner was a gelding by Tiger Ridge named Little Nick. Then in 2007, she foaled Little Mike, who was named after the Vaccarezzas' son.

Little Mike had a breakout year in 2012, winning four out of seven races and bankrolling $2,668,742 in earnings. His stakes wins included the grade I Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes, Arlington Million Stakes, and the Breeders' Cup Turf.

The now 6-year-old gelded son of Spanish Steps, who races in Priscilla Vaccarezza's name, was recently named Florida's Horse of the Year, champion older male, and champion turf horse for 2012. Priscilla Vaccarezza was named Florida owner of the year.
