The Ontario Racing Commission has suspended trainer Brian Lynch following his recent arrest at Woodbine.

According to Constable Tony Vella of the Toronto Police Service, Lynch, 49, was arrested May 25 at Woodbine and charged with threatening death to another individual and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Although it did not specificially mention the recent arrest, on May 31 the Ontario Racing Commission said Lynch had been suspended pending the outcome of its investigation into a violation of Rule 15.09.01.

That ORC rule states, "Any act or omission related to Thoroughbred horse racing in any or all of its forms, which, when measured against generally accepted standards of good conduct would be regarded as dishonest, unfair or unsportsmanlike or contrary to the public interest ..."

Among the leading trainers at Woodbine the last several seasons, Lynch has saddled such top horses as multiple stakes winner Ginger Brew, Canadian classic winners Miami Deco and Golden Moka, and two-time graded stakes winner Bay to Bay.
