TVG Plans On-Site Del Mar, Saratoga Coverage

The racing network will broadcast from summer tracks extensively beginning July 17.

TVG will present live on-site coverage of opening day racing at Del Mar on Wednesday, July 17 and Saratoga Race Course on Friday, July 19.

The horse racing network will again broadcast the entire Del Mar race meet, offering on-site coverage from the seaside track located just north of San Diego. Del Mar, which offers live racing Wednesday-Sunday, as well as on Labor Day, concludes its season Sept. 4.

For the second straight year, TVG will produce Del Mar's simulcast and on-track broadcast, and for the fourth consecutive year, the network will serve as title sponsor of Del Mar's signature event, the $1 Million TVG Pacific Classic (gr. I). The Aug. 25 race is the only non-Breeders' Cup event on the 2013 California Thoroughbred racing calendar with a $1 million dollar purse.

Racing at Saratoga, located in upstate New York, is conducted six days per week (Wednesday-Monday), and ends on Labor Day. TVG will be on-site for the three-day opening weekend, which will feature the TVG Coaching Club American Oaks (gr. I). TVG is sponsoring the race, which will also air on Prime Ticket, Fox Sports San Diego, Sun Sports, Sports South, and MSG Plus, for the fourth consecutive year.

"Del Mar and Saratoga, two of horseracing's premier venues, are synonymous with the country's best summertime racing," said Don Scott, TVG's vice president of marketing. "Our goal is to capture the excitement of the racing product as well as the special qualities each track offers."
