Speightstown Colt Sells for $200,000 at F-T

The colt is out of the Medaglia d'Oro mare Haute Couture.

A dark bay or brown colt by Speightstown  out of the Medaglia d'Oro  mare Haute Couture was the first yearling to bring $200,000 at the Fasig-Tipton sale of select yearlings July 15 in Lexington.

The colt was consigned by Baccari Bloodstock, LLC, as agent.

Robert McMartin, agent, signed the ticket for an undisclosed buyer. McMartin said his client liked the pedigree of the January-foaled colt and currently plans to race him. The colt is the first foal out of Haute Couture, who was unraced.

Second dam Miss Popularity, by Storm Bird, is the dam of five winners including Get Funky, winner of the Del Mar Derby (gr. IIT).

Irish-bred Popularity is third dam to the Speightstown colt. A graded stakes-placed winner, Popularity is the dam of stakes-winning Majestic Irish.
