NBC Sports Unveils Saratoga Schedule

Broadcasts will feature many of the top races from the New York track this season.

The New York Racing Association and the NBC Sports Group are partnering for a third consecutive year to present the "Summer at Saratoga" series, with seven live broadcasts from Saratoga Race Course, starting July 27 and concluding Aug. 31.

There will be eight hours of live coverage over seven weekends, including the Aug. 24 telecast of the $1 million Travers Stakes (gr. I) featuring a potential showdown between Palace Malice , who captured the Belmont Stakes (gr. I), Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Orb , and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) victor Oxbow .

The broadcasts also will feature live coverage of some of the premier races of the Saratoga season, including the $750,000 Whitney Invitational Handicap (gr. I) Aug. 3 and the $600,000 Alabama Stakes (gr. I) Aug. 17.

The schedule for NBC's live coverage of the 2013 Saratoga meet is as follows (all times EDT):

Saturday, July 27: $600,000 Diana (gr. I) and $600,000 Jim Dandy (gr. II) (5-6 p.m. on NBC Sports Network)
Saturday, Aug. 3: $750,000 Whitney Invitational Handicap (gr. I) (5-6 p.m. on NBC)
Saturday, Aug. 10: $500,000 Fourstardave Handicap (gr. II) (5-6 p.m. on NBC)
Sunday, Aug. 11: $200,000 Adirondack (gr. II) and $200,000 Saratoga Special (gr. II) (5-6 p.m. on NBC Sports Network)
Saturday, Aug. 17: $600,000 Alabama (gr. I) and $600,000 Sword Dancer Invitational (gr. I) (5-6 p.m. on NBC Sports Network)
Saturday, Aug. 24: $500,000 Foxwoods King's Bishop and $1 million Travers (4:30-6 p.m. on NBC)
Saturday, Aug. 31: $250,000 Bernard Baruch Handicap (gr. II), $500,000 Forego (gr. I) and $750,000 Woodward (gr. I) (4-6 p.m. on NBC Sports Network)

NBC Sports Live Extra, the NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets, will provide Summer at Saratoga coverage on NBC and NBC Sports Network. The NBC Sports Network coverage will be live streamed via "TV Everywhere," the media industry's effort to make quality content available to MVPD customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms.
