Delaware Commission Suspends Trainer Roberson

Regulator says trainer possessed injectable medications, syringes, and needles.

The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission has suspended trainer Donald Roberson after it said its investigators discovered injectable medications, syringes, and needles in his possession.

The suspension is pending a stewards' hearing. During the period of suspension, the DTRC said Roberson will not be allowed at Delaware Park or other grounds under commission jurisdiction.

The DTRC suspension of Roberson was listed at, which shows his most recent medication-related suspension as 15 days and a $1,500 fine in 2011 in Iowa for the second of two methocarbamol positives.

Roberson has saddled the winners of eight races this year and his starters have earned $181,686. For his career, Roberson totals 1,190 wins and purse earnings of $10.8 million.
