Dixie Chatter Celebrates First Stakes Winner

Juvenile filly Architecture becomes first stakes winner for her sire, Dixie Chatter.

Dixie Chatter 's first-crop 2-year-old filly Architecture, second in the July 14 $50,000 Boulevard Casino Stakes, won as the 6-5 favorite in the 11-horse field vying for the $50,000 British Columbia Cup Debutante Stakes (VIDEO), one of six stakes for British Columbia-breds on the Aug. 5 British Columbia Cup Day card at Hastings Racecourse.

Reserved off the early pace in fourth, Architecture took command in the stretch under a hand ride to break her maiden and earn her first stakes victory for owner Swift Thoroughbreds and trainer Dino Condilenios. Her final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt was 1:18 flat.

Purchased for $28,000 as a yearling from breeder Whitewood Farm at the 2012 British Columbia CTHS Sale, Architecture is the second foal from the Yankee Gentleman mare Harmony Creator, a four-time winner of $83,560 in California.

Dixie Chatter is also the sire of the stakes-placed winner Chattering Nikita, third in the 6-furlong $50,000 Princess Margaret Stakes at Northlands Park July 27.

A multiple graded stakes winner of $464,606, including the Norfolk Stakes (gr. I) at 2, Dixie Chatter stands at Donald and Karen Cohn's Ballena Vista Farm near Ramona, Calif.
