Sea Bubble First Winner for U S Ranger

WinStar stallion registers first victory Aug. 24 with 2-year-old at Delaware Park.

Sea Bubble became the first winner for her sire U S Ranger  when she captured a maiden special weight Aug. 24, the sixth race at Delaware Park (VIDEO).

Jockey Julian Pimental was in the irons as the 2-year-old filly led the field over turf rated "firm" in the mile-long grass contest. Holding off rival Galehorn, Sea Bubble won by one length in a final time of 1:41.71.

Sea Bubble was bred by B. P. Walden, Jr. and P. W. Madden in Kentucky. Jane Cibelli trains the filly, who races in the colors of Clarke Ohrstrom. The bay is out of Lovely Martha, by Storm Bird. 

U S Ranger was bred by Joseph Allen in Kentucky. Racing in Great Britain, Europe, and the U.S., U S Ranger was awarded highweight honors in Ireland in 2007 as a 3-year-old colt and in 2008 as an older horse. Upon his retirement he boasted a record of 5-2-3 from 19 races and earnings of $481,775.

A 9-year-old son of Danzig, U S Ranger is out of  the Red Ransom mare My Annette.

U S Ranger stands at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky. His fee for the 2013 breeding season was $5,000.
