Rasmussen to Replace Ramsey at Hill 'n' Dale

Longtime manager to leave Lexington farm after Keeneland September yearling sale.

Hill 'n' Dale Farms announced Aug. 29 that longtime farm manager Joe Ramsey is leaving at the conclusion of the Keeneland September Sale.

John Rasmussen, assistant farm manager for the past five years, will assume the role of farm manager.

"JR (Ramsey) will continue to be in charge of our consignments, and we are grateful that he will retain that role," said John Sikura, Hill 'n' Dale Farms president. "JR has been with us for 15 years and we have accomplished a lot together. I am thankful for his outstanding service, attention to detail and loyalty to Hill 'n' Dale. In addition to being a world class horseman, he is truly a special person, and I cannot thank him enough for all that he has done for me and my family. I could not respect an individual more than JR.

Sikura said Rasmussen comes to the position with a good background at Hill 'n' Dale.

"John is an exceptional horseman who has a wealth of experience and knows the ins and outs of our system, having been a vital part of our team for the past five years," Sikura said. "We are fortunate to be able to promote from within the organization, and we are confident that John will do an outstanding job taking care of the world class horses that call Hill 'n' Dale home."
