Sky Conqueror Celebrates First Winner

Juvenile filly Regal Conqueror captures her Sept. 7 debut at Woodbine.

Sky Conqueror was represented by his first winner when Regal Conqueror posted a debut victory on Sept.7 in the third race at Woodbine, a maiden special weight (VIDEO).
The 2-year-old filly, with Eurico Da Silva in the irons, led at every point of call, commanding the field as she easily extended herself to an impressive 7 1/2-length victory over her 11 rivals. Final time for the six furlong sprint over Woodbine's all-weather track was 1:10.31.
The William Sorokolit homebred was foaled in Ontario out of the Regal Classic mare, Classic Stamp. Darwin Banach trains the chestnut filly.
Sky Conqueror, Canada's 2006 champion grass horse was also a homebred runner for Sorokolit and raced in Canada and the U.S. A winner of the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes (gr. IT) at Churchill Downs, Sky Conqueror retired with a record of 7-2-4 from his 20 starts, and earnings exceeding $1.7 million.
A 11-year-old son of Sky Classic, Sky Conqueror is out of  Heavenly Ballerina, a daughter of  Conquistador Cielo and stands in Ontario at Hunterview Farm. His 2013 fee was $5,000 CAN.
