War Front's Stud Fee Increased to $150,000

Claiborne Farm announced its stallion roster and stud fees for 2014 Oct. 9.

Claiborne Farm announced its 2014 stud fees Oct. 9, which included increases for two stallions, War Front  and First Samurai . War Front's fee will be increased to $150,000 from his 2013 fee of $80,000, and First Samurai  will stand for $15,000 next year, up from his previous fee of $10,000.

New to the roster is Data Link , a grade I winner who will stand for $7,500 beside his own sire, War Front.

All other stallions' fees remain unchanged.

War Front has seen a great deal of success this year, both on the track and in the sales ring. Among his 15 stakes winners (including eight new stakes victors) this year are group I Englsh winner Declaration of War , War Command (Eng-II), Departing (gr. II), Lines of Battle (UAE-II), Summer Front  (gr. IIIT), and Jack Milton  (gr. II).

The Danzig stallion's offspring are attracting a lot of attention at the sales as well. There were 35 yearlings sired by War Front sold at the Keeneland September sale for $14,057,000, including the sales topper, a $2.5 million colt out of Blading Gold Ring, by During.

Nine First Samurai runners have won stakes so far in 2013, including grade I winner Justin Phillip , Last Gunfighter  (gr. III), and Swift Warrior (gr. IIIT). The son of Giant's Causeway  was represented at the Keeneland September sale by 10 yearlings that sold for an average price of $57,000.
