Affirmatif Moves to Caines Stallion Station

Stakes-winning stallion relocates to the Oklahoma stud farm for 2014.

Stakes-winning stallion Affirmatif will join the sire roster at Caines Stallion Station near Wynnewood, Okla., for 2014, the farm announced Oct. 11. His stud fee will be $1,000.

To welcome him to the farm, an additional complimentary season to Affirmatif will be granted with every paid season. Both seasons must be used in 2014. Affirmatif stood at Randy Gammill’s Diamond G Ranch near Edmond, Okla., following his retirement from racing in 2010.

Affirmatif, who retired with a record of 3-6-1 from 13 starts for trainer Todd Pletcher, won the Woodlawn Stakes at Pimlico Race Course and recorded a runner-up finish in the Hill Prince Stakes (gr. III) at Belmont Park.

Bred in Kentucky by owners Wertheimer & Frere, the 7-year-old son of Unbridled's Song is out of Wichitoz, by Triple Crown winner Affirmed. The bay stallion hails from the same family of  champions Rubiano and Summer Bird, Relaunch, and grade I winner Tapit , who currently ranks among the leading sires in the U.S.
