I Want Revenge's Stud Fee Set at $10,000

Grade I winner will enter stud in 2014 at Pauls Mill in Kentucky.

Pauls Mill announced Nov. 5 that grade I winner I Want Revenge , the morning-line favorite for the 2009 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), will stand the 2014 breeding season at the farm for a fee of $10,000 live foal.

After back-to-back wins in the grade I Wood Memorial Stakes and grade III Gotham Stakes, I Want Revenge was installed as the morning-line favorite for the Kentucky Derby. He was scratched the morning of the race due to a severe soft tissue injury.

It was reminiscent of when his grandsire A.P. Indy was scratched the day of the Derby as the morning-line favorite.

"I Want Revenge had extraordinary talent going two turns, an unflappable competitor and a physique and front-end that a commercial breeder can make a living with," said Ben Walden, owner of Pauls Mill. "I like that he's bred like leading sires Tapit  and Bernardini  with A.P. Indy on top and Fappiano on the bottom.

"We had great luck with another super-talented Wood Memorial winner in Bellamy Road . Not everybody got him at first, but I believe they do now. I see a lot of similarities in the two horses. I believe I Want Revenge to be very good value for the money."
