Campo to Oversee Racing for Stronach Group

The former NYRA director of racing will be based primarily at Gulfstream Park.

P.J. Campo, who served as vice president and director of racing for the New York Racing Association, has taken a job as vice president of racing with The Stronach Group.

NYRA recently announced that Martin Panza, vice president of racing at Hollywood Park, had been hired to oversee racing operations for chief executive officer Chris Kay.

Campo will be based primarily at Gulfstream Park in Florida, according to a release. He will oversee The Stronach Group's racing operations and assist chief operating officer and Gulfstream president Tim Ritvo.

"We're thrilled to have P.J. as a member of our team," Ritvo said. "We are a company that loves Thoroughbred racing, and we're proud to have someone with P.J.'s extensive knowledge of the industry as well as his contacts."

"I'm honored to join The Stronach Group for this fantastic career opportunity," Campo said. "To be able to join such a great team that has such a focus on Thoroughbred racing is an opportunity like no other. I am anxious to get started and look forward to being a part of such an industry innovator."
