Glen Hill Farm's dual grade I winner Marketing Mix, fifth in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) Nov. 2 at Santa Anita Park, has been retired.
Marketing Mix, who counts seven graded stakes wins among her 10 victories from 21 races overall, arrived Nov. 6 at Leonard Lavin's farm in Ocala, Fla. The 5-year-old mare by Medaglia d'Oro —Instant Thought, by Kris S., is to be bred next year, according to Glen Hill President Craig Bernick.
She won the 2013 Gamely Stakes (gr. I) in May at Betfair Hollywood Park as well as Santa Anita's Rodeo Drive (gr. IT) last fall before running second in the 2012 Filly & Mare Turf. Trained by Tom Proctor, Marketing Mix retires with lifetime earnings of $2,015,893.
"She is completely sound, but has done enough racing," Glen Hill Farm told visitors to its Facebook page. "She has given us tremendous thrills, and we are looking forward to her career as a broodmare."
Sean Fitzhenry bred the dark bay Marketing Mix in Ontario, Canada.
Breeding plans have not been announced.
