Vinery New York Stallions to Rockridge Stud

Champion sprinter Trinniberg will also stand at the Hudson, N.Y.-based farm.

Tom Simon's Vinery New York announced that six of its stallions standing at Sugar Maple Farm near Poughquag will be moving to Lere Visagie's Rockridge Stud near Hudson beginning with the 2014 season.

"With Dr. Simon winding down all of his North American operations, and following the sale of the Kentucky farm, it made sense to move the stallions in New York," said Vinery president Tom Ludt in a statement. "We appreciate the care and great effort that Dan Hayden and all of the staff at Sugar Maple have given the stallions over the past few years very much, and we know that will continue with Lere. Dr. Simon retains an interest in many of these horses and has every reason to see them succeed."

In addition to the six stallions from Vinery New York, Rockridge announced that 2012 Xpressbet Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner and champion sprinter Trinniberg  (Teuflesberg Bella Dorato, by Goldminers Gold) would be added to the roster.

"This is a great horse for New York," said Visagie in a release. "We are happy to offer breeders the opportunity to purchase a limited number of shares in the horse as well."
