Turbo Compressor New to Northwest Stud

The grade I-winning son of Halo's Image will stand the 2014 season for $3,500.

Northwest Stud near Ocala has announced its stud fees for the 2014 breeding season, including the latest stallion to join its rapidly-growing roster, grade I winner Turbo Compressor .

Turbo Compressor, a son of Halo's Image, out of the Wild Event mare Dixieland Event, was a distance specialist on both dirt and turf, winning four stakes from 1 1/16 miles to 1 3/8 miles.

He captured the United Nations (gr. I) at Monmouth Park by nearly two lengths, the Colonial Turf Cup Stakes, by 1 1/4 lengths, the Carl G. Rose Classic Handicap at Calder Casino & Race Course by 10 1/2 lengths, and the Curlin at Saratoga by nearly three lengths.

Turbo Compressor was also stakes-placed four times, including the John Henry Turf Championship Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita and the Pegasus Stakes (gr. III) at Monmouth Park.

He concluded a 17-race career for trainer Todd Pletcher with a record of 7-2-2 and earnings of $953,960. Bred in Florida by Bridlewood Farm, he raced for P and G Stable and Off the Hook.

Turbo Compressor is a half-brother to five winners, including stakes winner Stormy Dixie and to 2013 stakes-placed 2-year-old Gelfenstein. He will stand for $3,500.
