CA Stakes Winner Gig Harbor to Victory Rose

He will stand for $1,500 live foal as the property of Daniel O'Neill.

Dual stakes winner Gig Harbor will begin his initial season at stud in 2014 at Ellen Jackson's Victory Rose Thoroughbreds near Vacaville, Calif. He will stand for $1,500 live foal as the property of Daniel O'Neill, who raced him throughout his career.

Gig Harbor, a 5-year-old son of City ZipMiss Blue Grass, by St. Jovite, broke his maiden on his first try at 3 at Golden Gate Fields, and went on to capture the 2011 Alcatraz Stakes and the 2012 Oakland Stakes, both in wire-to-wire fashion at the Northern California track.

The Steven Specht-trained Gig Harbor retired from racing with a career record of 5-0-1 from nine starts, for earnings of $143,300.

Gig Harbor is a half brother to stakes winner Alsono (by Limehouse ) and a full brother to stakes-placed runner My Lil Shamrock. His second dam is grade III victor Daloma (by Bellypha). Victory Rose said he will be the only son of City Zip standing in California in 2014.
