Crestwood Open House Set for Jan. 5

The farm's newest stallions are Bullet Train and General Quarters.

Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm will host its annual stallion open house Sunday, Jan. 5, from noon to 5 p.m. EST at its stallion barn on Spurr Road near Lexington.

There are two new additions to the 2014 roster: group III winner Bullet Train (Sadler's WellsKind, by Danehill), is a three-parts brother to two-time Cartier Horse of the Year Frankel because they are both out of Kind and Galileo is a son of Sadler's Wells. In addition the farm is standing multiple grade I-winning millionaire General Quarters (Sky Mesa Ecology, by Unbridled's Song), who is his sire's leading earner.

Attendees can register for a 2014 free season raffle for each stallion, and food and drinks will be served in a heated tent.
