First Foal a Colt for G2 Winner Overdriven

Son of Tale of the Cat sired his first reported foal at Ocala Stud Jan. 12.

Overdriven, a grade II-winning son of Tale of the Cat , sired his first reported foal when a colt was born Jan. 12 at J. Michael O'Farrell Jr.'s Ocala Stud near Ocala.

The bay colt is out of stakes-producing mare Call Me Dancer, a daughter of Gate Dancer who was the first of 110 mares covered by Overdriven in his first book at stud in 2013, according to Ocala Stud, which bred her newborn colt in Florida.

Overdriven was known as one of the top 2-year-olds in New York in 2011 after impressively breaking his maiden first time out in :56 2/5 at Belmont Park, earning a 100 Beyer figure.

Out of the winning French Deputy mare Air France and a half brother to grade III winner Smooth Air, Overdriven closed out an undefeated juvenile campaign with a four-length victory in the Sanford Stakes (gr. II) at Saratoga Race Course. He will stand his second season at Ocala Stud for a fee of $3,000 stands and nurses.
